2 days post op

February 18th was my surgery date.

I'm now 2 days post-op.

The nerve blocks wore off after about 30 hours. I can't believe how much they helped!

Pain level today at it's highest...7-8 out of 10.

I'm taking my pain meds, as prescribed.

However, thanks to all the drug seekers....they really screwed it up for people that actually need pain meds, like after a surgery.

I called my surgeons office this morning at 8am. Let them know about my pain.
They gave me some bullshit reply, "just keep it elevated and take some ibuprofen."

Waaaay before I scheduled this surgery, I made it known to my surgeon, that I have a low pain tolerance, and don't want to be in a lot of pain.

He seemed to understand, (at the time.)

I waited 3-4 hours to see how the ibuprofen would work.

It didn't. I called the doctor's office again.

His medical assistant called me back.

I expressed to her my amount of pain, and since we live out of town, (I expressed this concern before surgery & at the time I scheduled the surgery)...so if I need more pain meds, it would need to be today.

Since, their office is closed on Friday's, and they won't be able to mail my hard copy RX until Monday, which means I would be completely out of pain meds before Monday.

Umm. No. That's not gonna work for me.

His MA told me, "well you ARE going to be in pain, you just had surgery."

Well, no shit Sherlock!!??

But, pain THIS intense? I can't handle THAT.

It's like the MA didn't even think that people have different pain tolerances, and it is clear that SHE hasn't had THIS type of surgery.

So, she doesn't understand.

Bless her heart.

We drove to Wichita to pick up a different Rx.

Got back to the hotel and I finally got a good nap in.

I just got out of the shower.

First time since Monday night.

Yes, I KNOW how gross that is.

Do you know how difficult it is to shower, with a bum leg?

Thankfully, I was prepared, and bought a shower chair.

Chris assembled the shower chair in the hotel room.

He helped me get undressed....and get "situated" on the shower chair.

Y'all he has SEEN things. 😂

It's hard to keep your lady bits all covered when your trying to NOT hurt your bad leg, or slip with the good leg.

He had me laughing, as I'm trying to position myself to bathe.

I feel like a Brand New Woman!

So fresh. So clean.

Until next time.
