Flying High

Turns out I am not a good packer. I am going to Palm Beach, Florida with the hubs for a business trip.
He and I both have to pack carry on bags. See, I am not used to this theory. I require lots of stuff to get "ready". Therefore I always check a bag. But this is a short trip. Only for 3 nights.

I packed most of my clothes yesterday. And the rest of my toiletries and make-up etc. This AM after I used them for getting ready early today.

Getting ready to zip my suitcase...Chris said, "um that isn't going to zip or fit into the overhead storage".  He had to unpack and repack all of my "crap".
Boy howdy am I glad he is an expert traveler and packer. He also had to annex some of my things...to my personal item (purse)
Of course my current purse is not big enough to hold my makeup bag full of RX pills and other makeup bag of makeup. Off to my closet I go....to hunt for a purse or bag big enough to hold those items plus my purse contents. I can't decide, I grab 3. Take all of them to the car.

Pack one huge bag as my personal item that is also being used now as my purse but also rolled up a real purse in the bottom of the bag to use once we are in FL. ( it is smaller than the bag that's being used for my personal item) :)

On the road... 10 minutes later than Chris wanted. ( because of my crappy packing job)  ;)  he looks over and asks if I got the package of diapers out of the car for Quinn to take inside the house before we left. "Um... no I forgot".  Not a happy time to start the trip. Oh well. Such is life.

Get to the Tulsa air port. Security wasn't busy at all. Thankfully. "Remove all liquids" so I unzip my carry-on and dig through my stuff ( NOT crap :) I can't find it!! The dude behind me was getting kinda pissy. "Mam, can I move your bag forward?"   Then Chris informs me before he heads into the body scanner..."I have your liquids in MY bag."  Oh, well Thanks. That would have been nice to know before I opened my bag AND held up the line.

Then, I am getting ready to enter the body scanner and I have on a really cute Pashmina scarf which also doubles as a blanket if I get cold on the plane. :) and the TSA guy said "mam, your scarf?" And makes me take it off.
Gawd. Like what am I going to hide in my scarf???? And its not like they wouldn't be able to see it in the body scanner anyway.
Then --I had to had over my Prada sunglasses to the other TSA agent on the other side of the body scanner. I was thinking (beeotch you better not break them)

Its just such a pain in the ass to travel. Security makes me mad. Chris got search though. :) I actually would have preferred to been patted down. It would have been the highlight of my day. And faster.

We get to our waiting area to board our plane. See a few small toddlers and babies...makes me miss our girls already. :(  and makes Chris want more kids. ( not happenin') snip snip ;) lol

Then we see a priest in pants and regular clothes. 10 minutes or so later another one..but in a long gown. ( never seen that before) so...is it a good sign or a bad one to have 2 priest on your flight?

As we are standing in line to board the plane, there is this buff good looking gentleman in his 30s and he motions over his wife and kids. I thought he was telling her to come stand in line with him. Turns out, he was in the military but in civilian attire, and his wife walks over to him, kisses him and hugs him and says "be safe, I love you." And she started to cry. Turns around pushes the stroller and walks away. The other little boy of theirs walks next to her. It was SO sad!!! Oh my gosh!! I didn't know that security let people through to wait with family, if they didn't have a boarding pass. I was really shocked and impressed. Maybe, hopefully ( and it should be) different for military spouse's. Props to you TSA and air port security. That made me happy. Board the plane. Chris takes the window seat, (fine by me) but- he insists on having the flippin' window open the whole time. Sunlight is not my friend that early in the morning. I'm half vampire, if you didn't already know. :) our bedroom is suuuuper dark. No sunlight during the day. Makes mama happy ;)

I lift both arm rests up and say I will keep them up only if the person on the other side of me is good looking. Or if it is the priest. Lol give him a thrill. I'm kidding!! ( although I did grab Chris's leg when we were landing. Quite bumpy. I did not care for that. I hope I didnt leave nail marks in his thigh. )
It turned out to be a chick about my age who sat next to me. I left the arm up and so did she.

Not long after I got seated and situated I reached for my "calm down" pills. Tylenol #3. Recently I had a middle ear infection and were prescribed those lovely babies. They sure came in handy on the flight!!! Not only did my ears not hurt but once they kicked in, mama was flying high.
Truth: I do not particularly care for flying. It scares me. EVERY TIME.  Chris likes to fly ( he might be a tad bit cray-cray) ;) love you babe!

Naw, really I don't like to fly. I just don't understand how the plane stays in the air!!  I mean, I am really glad that it does....but HOW DOES IT??  No, please don't try to explain it to me. I'm not ready for a science lesson.  :)

The pilot finally turns off the "fasten your seat belt" sign. I unbuckle so fast its unreal. I've had 2 cups of coffee and a bottle of water. And have to pee like a race horse! An old man beats me to the lavatory. I thought about tripping him...but luckily there were 2 available. It was his lucky day. :) haha.

Ive got my iPod on while in the lavatory and I am singing...possibly out loud. Then I  return to my seat.
Rockin' out to my iPod all head bobbing and shoulders grooving and knees bopping, feet tapping...hubs looking at me like I'm drunk.
I don't care. I like music! Gotta pass the time somehow. (Plus i am having fun) And no one can stop ME from shaking my bod. Music makes me want to move.
Does it you?? :)

Chris is watching a movie.
Before we know it, its time to turn off our electronic devices and we have the bumpy landing in Dallas. All of the kids and babies on our flight were amazing! Chris and I were so impressed. I asked one of the moms in front of us that was un-boarding the plane if it was her baby's first time flying. She said no it wasn't. I complimented how impressed I was how well her little girl and the rest of the kids did. They all deserved a treat for being so quiet on the plane :)

Now, we are on the flight to Palm Beach, FL.  I have not drugged up again yet. Its not been 4 hours.  Womp womp womp :(
Did I mention I Hate flying??

OK people...tell me if you liked this blog!! :)

Pictures: yellow bag: personal item bag.
Me: with pashmina scarf and sunglasses on. ( not a terrorist )
Chocolate raspberry mousse cake@ Dallas air port.: my breakfast and lunch. Only ate a few bites. Very yummy!!! And it was half price...not sure why
( hope I don't have Montezuma's revenge later....bc it WAS half price.) Yikes. ..but I'm always for a good deal. :)....unless it involves the trotts.

(makes me think of that scene in Dumb and Dumber {the original one}...where Harry is blowin' up the bathroom in Mary's Aspen mansion and the toilet doesn't flush.) Lol Chris and I almost to Palm Beach. I am smiling because it has now been 4 hours. ;) ;) and its almost time to land this bird. We miss the kids and hope the girls are being good for grandma!! :) xoxo Landed safely in Florida. :)
