Bad mom/ good wife

Let me start this out saying.. I LOVE my family. My husband, and our 2 little girls. I am very blessed to be a stay-at-home-mommy.
Yes, there are days that it is very challenging. And, I cant wait, until Chris gets home from work.

In fact, I would even say that being a SAHM is one of  THE hardest jobs there is.
It's non-stop...mommy...mommy...mommy, change a diaper/wipe a butt...and trying to fit in time to get the house work done: laundry, vacuuming, dishes, litter box, feed the dogs, dust, change the sheets, clean the bathrooms, pick up the toys, feed the kids.
And, that doesn't even include time for me to stop and pee, brush my teeth, do my hair, put on make up, let alone exercise (which I reeeally need to do, on a regular basis for many reasons; health, to set a good example for my girls, stress reliever, self-confidence, happiness)

Today was one of many days that I struggle with to I choose to be either: a good mom /bad wife or         bad mom/ good wife. Because I simply cant be great at both. I chose to be a good wife, and get laundry and dishes done today. I HAD to get laundry done today. 4 baskets of clean clothes had been sitting only  3 days....or so. (yes, they were wrinkled, no I don't iron)
The kids wanted me to play with them, as I am folding the clothes. Quinn is throwing a volleyball at me saying, "catch mommy". I just felt so awful and guilty for not being able to play with her right then and there. Even though Chris says to me "You're Superwoman".....I just cant do it all.

But, I DID get all of the laundry and dishes done!

Being a SAHM isnt always a glamorous job but, it is rewarding, to hear your child's first words, their laughter; to have them come up and hug your leg and say  "I wuv you mommy." then 5 minutes later, your two- year old throws herself on the floor in a tantrum. : )

Until next time...

  1. I have been to peoples' houses who must choose to be super mom every day because it is soooo messy and I just can't do that. For my own sanity I need a clean(ish) house. There is a lot to be said for setting an example of cleanliness and organization for your kids.
