Yearly exam and Prep work

Hey y'all!

I know its been a long time since I last wrote. I thought today, on this cloudy, chilly day would be a perfect day to blog. Plus, I am procrastinating doing house work. :)

Today I had my yearly well-woman's exam. Ya know, pap and breast exam. Fun stuff. Getting to bare it all, just to wear a white flimsy paper vest (which opens in the front) and "blanket" that, lets face it, is no bigger than a few hand towels. Ha ha.

I have to admit, I did put off this exam for a while, like a whole year, while. Oops. Oh well. I got it done now. So, that's what counts, right?

Now, shall we talk prep work?? Ladies....prey tell, do you do anything "special" to prepare for your Gyno appointments? Truth: I DO. I have to do the following: shower at least an hour before my appointment, (cleanliness is a must) shave my legs (I don't want to be all prickly), do some lady landscaping  ;) (and I mean REEEEALLY get up in there GOOD. (bc you are going to have that bright-ass light shining right up on your va-jay-jay...then you add in the unflattering florescent lights and...you can err.. the Doctor can see everything.. and I personally don't want to have any stray hairs.
Is it so wrong that I want to make a good "impression" as I am spread eagle, in the stirrups.
Then, I lotion up the bod, don't want to have dry legs, arms and tummy. Next, I pick out super cute/borderline sexy panties and matching bra. :)
Hair and makeup is next...lastly is clothes. A cute blouse and jeans. Confidence is key when wearing tissue paper.

Anywho, I get to my appt. and I am running a bit late, but I did call ahead to let them know. That is just common courtesy :)

I don't have to wait to be called back into the exam room  very long at all. Bonus.  :) My doc. and her RNs are very nice and professional. :) I love them. Nurse takes my vitals and my bp was high..(I was nervous) not a fan of gyno appointments. But who is a fan of them??

Then nurse leaves me with the paper gowns to dress in. I undress, and lets face it, I AM a slooow undress-er. I precisely and neatly take off my jeans, and blouse, cami, folding each one and neatly placing them on the extra chair that is in the room. Next, is the cute/sexy panties and matching bra...these bad boys get placed on top of the other neatly folded clothes. My Sperry shoes go under the chair on the floor.

You know how I mentioned how I am a sloooow undress-er? It just so happens that my neat-freakness made me end up mooning the Doctor as she knocks and then comes in. Because I am still fiddling with trying to put on the paper gown. LOL oh well. She promptly apologizes and says that she can come back in when I am ready.
Nah. I am fine I  just gotta unfold this paper washcloth and sit on the reclining table. :)  She has seen my va-jay-jay how many times before??? (she delivered both Sophie and Quinn)  what's a little ass, showing? ya know? :)

A little chit chat, K-Y jelly, speculum and scraping of the cervix and the exam is over.
Exam went well. My Mirena IUD is still in place and everything looks great. Bp got rechecked after my exam and this time it was normal. Whoo hoo! She asked if I wanted more kids. I promptly said NO. Two is plenty, two is a great number for us.

Do you do anything special to prepare for you Gyno appointments?? Or have you ever had anything embarrassing happen at the doctors office??

A few things I have always thought about .....I just I feel sorry for the doctors that have patients  that don't take the time to clean up "down there" before those types of appointments. Yikes.
And, what about the male Gyno's....who spend alllllll day looking at vaginas.
Then have to go home and see their wife, and she wants sex. How on earth do they shut off "work" and get into a sexy state of mind and think happily... "oh yea! another vagina!!" and not....all dreary "aw, man    not another one. Ugh."  LOL just some food for thought.

Maybe I made you Monday a little bit better...brought a little laughter or smile to your face?? :)

Until next time....

xoxo
